If my math serves me well, we’ve got a good 7 days until the General Elections, and I have to say, throughout this entire campaign period, I’ve been getting quite sick. Actually, I’d like to HOPE that others have been getting sick as well. What are we getting sick of?
2 WORDS: YELLOW.FEVER.
I have to be blunt about it. I despise the man and all that he thinks he stands for. For a guy who claims to have the worst propaganda thrown at him, he’s quite the trash talker himself. He’s been the “victim” of two attacks on his mental stability, and yet, do you honestly think that there isn’t even the slightest possibility that he could actual have those problems? Aside from the physical properties that he exhibits, he’s also been quite defensive on the issue and, up till now, refuses to take any form of psychiatric evaluation.
Aside from his defensive stance on the psychiatric issue, he’s also been quite the braggart, declaring that if he were to lose, the eponymous people power would occur once again. This clear sign of an overly failed sense of accomplishment angers me that he would dare incite hatred into the hearts of people just because he feels that he’ll be cheated out of the elections. Perhaps he needs to get it into his head that surveys say nothing about 40 million registered voters. What is 2000 people’s decision supposed to say about your chances of winning? If anything, the man should keep his thoughts to himself less they run amok and cause mayhem among the populace. And you call yourself a “humble” official.
Bullshit.
I’ll be honest. My biases against the aforementioned candidate have led me to say that I’d rather vote for his closest opponent than him, which, according to most of my friends, is tantamount to blasphemy.
Well, it just boils down to this:
An individual like his opponent MAY BE a thief, a corrupt politician, or both (they’re correlated anyway), but you CANNOT deny the fact that his record has proven his worth in both Congress and Senate. He has authored bills, passed legislation, and has spent LESS money than the former who has passed NOTHING in both Congress and Senate. What does that have to say about efficient allocation for the Economics graduate? Oh, and one other thing, it is one thing to be accused of stealing. It’s another issue to be PROVEN guilty.
Thoughts?
Ok, so MAYBE his poor track record, his supposed mental health, his arrogance, and his political mudslinging haven’t convinced you to NOT vote for him.
Maybe his being the son of “deified” national heroes has given you enough reason to vote for him. Maybe you’ll be staking your life on the possibility that he WON’T steal in office, if it is to save his family’s name.
You just gave him the perfect alibi for all the potential bullshit he might do in office.
As a way to divert your attention in a scandal he could be involved in, he’ll simply say
“I put at stake my family’s name in all that I do. I did NOT steal”, or some variation of that statement.
Remember, it is YOU who is deciding the fate of the nation with your vote. It doesn’t matter if you’re an individual or if you are bloc voting. The point of the matter is, YOU ARE DECIDING YOUR OWN FUTRE BASED ON YOUR DECISIONS IN THE PRESENT!
Whatever choice you make, it’s totally up to you. I’m just sharing my opinion on the matter in the hopes that you see what I can see against his candidacy.
And frankly, I’d rather vote for someone accused of being a corrupt politician, someone CONVICTED of being a corrupt politician, an Evangelist, a semi-Bible Thumper, a girl with a boy cut, and a supposed puppet than someone who’s list of controversies include the words “killed”, “protest”, and “massacre”.
Thank you for reading this, and God Save our Nation!
FYI:
I’m personally voting for his cousin.

Thank for the information
After reading your blog
Me and wife has changed our mind from
Aquino to Gordon
Thanks and God bless Philippines
Thank you so much! This made my night! Your decision shows that we Filipinos still have hope for a bright future. May people make the right choices to elect the most competent leaders for our country!
let’s go gibo! i think he’s the best one among all the candidates. NO DOUBT. after everyone trash talks him, he has NEVER said anything bad to anyone. it shows what kind of a man he is. this is what our country needs. UNITY– to get things done. stop the fighting.
we have never had a candidate who is PERFECT for the job. sayang siya if he doesn’t win. we won’t have a good of a candidate as gibo for the next 25 years! Let your conscience speak. SULONG
Thanks for the comment Joey! It’s good to hear from fellow Ateneans and this is evidence for those around us that we’ve chosen to no longer be complacent and fight for what we believe and what we feel the country needs, in this case, a president like Gibo!
He truly is the man for the job, an actual humble public servant, an educated individual, someone who can truly represent us on the global front. Let us all work hard to push for his victory. SULONG! =D
P.S. If I’m not mistaken, you used to be blockmates with a good friend of mine who shifted to Comm as well as my Sci10 blockmate, haha
Lol! How ignorant you are. And to think you came from my alma mater. You don’t like political mudslinging but what are you doing right now? You should look up hypocrisy in the dictionary. And did you know that one of the greatest presidents of the United States was “mentally unstable.” He suffered from depression and even had a nervous breakdown. Yet two fake psychological reports that deem him suffering from depression convinced you and so many others that this “despised man” is unfit to become president. And what physical properties are you talking about? So now you can tell if someone has mental problems just by appearance. Wow, you are unbelievable. You are voting for his cousin who, with a Harvard education, can only muster laws that makes roads into national roads. And what for? For chicharon of course. By the way, the U.S. president I was talking about earlier was Abraham Lincoln, who many consider to be the greatest president of the U.S.
It will be safe to assume that you are for the candidate I speak of, so I shall keep this brief (or maybe not).
1. I’d like to define political mudslinging as something where politicians voice out certain personal forms of criticism to their opponents, or to unravel skeletons from the closet. I’m just simply voicing my opinion.
2. Everyone’s unique. One person can be mentally unstable and be a great leader. But how can you say that the same can apply to the aforementioned when there is yet to be any proof of this in his previous terms as Congressman and Senator?
3. I never said I was convinced by the fake psychological reports. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have called them fake to begin with.
4. Unlike the aforementioned, his cousin has actually done some work.
5. I welcome comments from people like you who so fervently defend the man who you wish to be seated in power. I’d just hope at least 1 of you could give me answers to the questions I pose.
and last but not least…
Unless you know what is truly going on behind the political curtains of this country, I’d recommend that any allegations you make be kept to yourself until proven with substantial evidence.
Because, quite frankly, I’m starting to feel really bad for his running mate who, more or less, is what a real leader should be, someone who doesn’t get pushed around and dictated upon by the political big wigs of their political party, something your candidate will most probably be doing.

A lot of people realized that. Good on you for being open about this.
Good job with the blog and another good job for pwning the Matthew guy.
you… would… be… voting… for… delos reyes… instead… of… gordon… damn. that part killed your article.
oh sorry, i misunderstood. you are a teodoro supporter. hmm. read this man. http://anabellec25.wordpress.com/2010/04/22/kay-gibo-ako-noon/
I never mentioned such. I’d vote for Gordon over delos Reyes any day. It’s never good to be too idealistic. And if you noticed, none of the “jokes” were referring to Gordon, proving that he is one of the best people for the job and that he’s truly proven his worth over the course of his 4 decades of public service.
Dude, I was not accusing you of badmouth-ing Gordon, i just thought you were a supporter of him, and so I misunderstood.
Haha, it’s alright
In a perfect world, he’d have been president 6 years ago. I pray that this nation can truly see that our most capable candidates are those who suffer from the public taunts of unbelievable surveys and overwhelming biases from media networks.
Thanks for the comment btw
I was going to reply at your last response but I think it has been limited. Anyway, I was not aware that he ran for that seat last term.
Yes, the media is totally under control of that Power Ranger Yellow. Especially his sister’s network. I hope more people like you could speak out because you have a good range of vocabs man, I’m impressed.
Yes, the future. Now that I am a grandmother all I can think of is my grandson and the millions of kids who will inherit a bitter future should this yellow boy win. I have a chance to give my grandson a hopeful tomorrow by voting for the right man. We will still struggle, given the huge problems this nation faces but we have hope in a man who CAN bring most of the changes that are truly within our reach. A candidate who inspires us, who is not into vengeance and who is healthy physically and mentally. How important are these actually? I demand no less from a would be Commander-in-Chief of this country! And touche we will vote for the same brilliant, youngish man.
I commented something above. How long does it take to moderate? Or is it because I logged in using a different user name?
Truly I ask the yellow followers, who is he and what has he done that would warrant an august position as that of president? A surname? Heck, that era is gone, kaput, tapos na, wala na. A new style of politics is being offered to us and it is refreshingly good. Their party wants power. That’s all. No appreciable and concrete programs of government that I can see. Just promises that will be forgotten after the election fever. Air, just hot air. I want a president who can stand toe to toe with other foreign dignitaries and who knows what he is talking about. I want a president who is healthy, physically and mentally. I demand no less from a would be Commander-in-Chief of our nation.
